Before you tell us anything

Confidentiality

You are going to tell us what the business actually turns over, who is not working out and what keeps you awake. All of that has to be safe or none of the rest of this works.

  • We will sign a confidentiality agreement before the first meeting if you want one, and we would rather sign yours than ask you to read ours.
  • Nothing you tell us is used as an example anywhere, even anonymously, without you being asked first and saying yes in writing.
  • The case studies on this site are composites assembled from several businesses precisely so that no single client is recognisable in one.
  • We do not take two clients who are directly competing for the same customers at the same time. If it happens by accident we tell both and stand down from one.
  • Working papers stay with us and are destroyed after two years unless you ask for them sooner. Anything we build for you is yours from the day it is written.

Why there is not a single client name on this website

A consultancy's logo wall is the cheapest credibility in the trade and it is bought with somebody else's confidentiality. Even where a client has agreed, the effect is the same: a visitor can now work out who talks to us, which is information about them that they gave us for a different purpose.

So there are no names, no logos and not one testimonial attributed to a person anywhere on this site. The four worked examples are composites assembled from several businesses each, precisely so that no single client is recognisable in one, and each of them says so on its own page.

Every case study on this site is a composite. Every case study on this site is an illustrative composite assembled from several businesses. No client is named, no logo appears, and there is not a single testimonial on this website attributed to a person — a fabricated one would be the one genuinely dishonest thing a consulting site can do.

Competing clients

We do not take two clients who are directly competing for the same customers at the same time. In a borough this size that occasionally happens by accident — two firms in the same trade, neither of which mentioned the other — and when it does we tell both and stand down from one, which is usually the more recent.

Working papers

Notes, timings, spreadsheets and drafts stay with us and are destroyed after two years unless you ask for them sooner, in which case you get them. Anything we build for you — a written review, a costing method, a reporting pack, a role description — is yours from the day it is written, and there is nothing in how we work that would let us take it back or license it to anybody else.

This is a demonstration website. This is a demonstration website. Woodside Management Partners is not a real firm, no enquiry sent from this site reaches anybody, and the telephone number is a placeholder. It was built to show what a small professional firm gets for a fixed price.

$2,200 a partner day · ninety minutes free · about one in four we talk out of it

Start with the assessment, or just telephone

The assessment takes about four minutes and gives you a written summary of what your answers suggest and which engagement addresses each thing. It is indicative and not professional advice, and it is a better opening than a blank contact form. If you would rather skip it, the telephone works and the first meeting is ninety minutes and free.
